    During the structural design of the building was created a project of ventilation engineering, according to which all the apartments are provided with individual ventilation, which excludes any problems with ventilation system.

    Pillars, beams and diaphragms

    The safety of any building is mostly defined by the quality of the pillars, beams and diaphragms, used during construction; these serve as the building’s central spine, and give the structure its strength. MEGA CONSTRUCTION pays very close attention to the construction of pillars, beams and diaphragms, using building materials of highest quality and moulds produced by DOKA GmbH, which provides accuracy, speed, safety and high quality of construction.

    DOKA GmbH —an Austrian company which leads the world in the field of formwork production and which currently operates through 160 branches and logistic centres in 70 countries.

  • Building sustainability

    Building sustainability

    Special attention was paid to building sustainability and seismic resistance during the construction of Mega Gldani tower. The building is located on the piles. Piles are located under every column of the building, hanging on the depth of 20 meters into the foundation. After piles additional 80 cm. tile (pillow layer) is placed. The building owns the vertical diaphragm in both directions, which significantly increases the seismic resistance of the building. B30 grade concrete is used for construction.

    Tower facade

    The outer (facade) layer is a strong, monolithic slab of reinforced concrete whose external facing is finished and decorated. The slab has high strength. It is produced by the decorated surface and after installation, only the protective coating is processed. As a result, the tower facade will preserve its original look for more than 100 years. These panels are manufactured by MEGA PRODUCTION in moulds produced by BIANCHI, and can meet the precise, individual requirements of any construction project. This is the first time that such advanced technology is used in Georgia.

    Wall and ceiling suspension

    Three types of walls are used during the construction process:

    1. Triple outer walls (facade)
    2. Double walls between flats
    3. Partition walls within flats

    A. Triple walls consist of:

    • A monolithic outer (facade) reinforced concrete panel
    • An insulation layer
    • An inner lightweight hollow concrete panel

    The outer layer is a strong, monolithic slab of reinforced concrete. The second layer provides thermal insulation. Uninflammable insulation (e.g. foam plastic) totally excludes the risk of fire. The third layer is a lightweight, hollow concrete panel whose inner face (i.e. the outer face of the flat wall) is perfectly even and requires minimal finishing work. Triple outer walls such as these offer excellent thermal and sound insulation, and serve as the basis for the structure’s insulation.

    B. Double walls between flats

    Neighbouring properties are separated by double walls made of lightweight, hollow concrete panels whose 10mm gap ensures additional thermal insulation and sound- proofing.

    C. Partition walls within flats

    All partition walls are made of hollow, monolithic lightweight concrete panels.

    Ceiling suspension

    The layers between stories are made of special reinforced hollow concrete slabs, highly durable and of the desired thickness. The hollowness of these slabs ensures additional sound and heat insulation between stories.
